What are the insects? We will put this group into perspective with Jen's visual presentations and accessible storytelling. The variables of reproduction and death come up as part of larger concepts, attending members should be comfortable with the mention and inclusion of these normal (really normal) processes of life.
Insects are a really different type of animal from us. From exoskeletons and flying to breathing and circulation, this class will get into insect physiology and life cycles. Insects are really different from us, this class will blow some assumptions and provide great conversation topics!
Did you know that insects were the first animals on land? Just that alone is a lot to think about. We are going to look at the evolutionary backstory of these ubiquitous animals.
Insects are nearly everywhere: in the air, underwater, even on glaciers. They are Niche Masters. This class will focus on insect niches and feeding guilds, information helpful for figuring out "what bug is that??"
